Storyly Studio is a part of Storyly. Studio is the creative editor of the product, as a WYSIWYG tool. You can upload images and videos, or design your stories from scratch. You can also import Instagram stories or Youtube videos. You can enrich your stories with polls, quizzes, countdown stickers, rating sliders, product tags, or CTAs like Swipe-Ups. And publish to your mobile apps and websites.
Overview
Storyly Studio has been a tremendous experience for a designer. Imagine you are a designer and designing for visual content creators.
Generally, you think that when you land on a product, you will continue with the design canvas. Storyly is an exception. You cannot open the Studio directly. You start with Storyly Dashboard, then when you want to design a story for a story group, you have to go through a tunnel.
There is our reason why we use a dark theme for Studio, because in the transition from Dashboard to Studio; the information hierarchy, the layout, and mostly the user persona changes.
Storyly Studio is not an ordinary design tool, it doesn't have a layer panel, a complex color selection widget, a font library that includes tons of fonts (except Comic Sans), maybe an animation timeline, or something similar. We may need them one day, but not in the near future. When we have to add something, we try to reduce the complexity as much as possible. It's a cliche, but adding is easy. The hardest thing about our job is the struggle not to add new components right away. Our product team has a minimalist approach to this.
Besides, our competitors are not Photoshop or Figma. We are helping our users create simple and beautiful stories for their apps and websites.
Thanks to our meticulous development team, the best part is seeing the same content in the Studio and in customers' apps and websites. We focus on high-quality outputs for the best end-user experience.
I was the only designer at Storyly Studio when we began, but later on, our team got bigger and I worked with inspiring designers.
